In Sweden you have some special rights that you won’t have in other countries like Germany for example. In Sweden it’s called the Allemannsrätt. I couldn’t find any translations into English, so I tried to do it on my own.
The Allemannsrätt says thatYou have the right to walk through the area without any special permissions and you can collect mushrooms or berries in the forest and fields
- You should only collect plants which are not nature protected
- You can collect plants without destroying the roots
- It’s forbidden to break off branches from growing trees
- Camping: you can camp with your tent everywhere in the nature for one night without asking somebody. But: It’s not allowed in sight of a house or when you disturb someone. You must leave your camp like you found it. So don’t destroy something or leave your trash there!
- The Allemannsrätt isn’t effective on private grounds, fields or gardens
- Fire: You can use the fire places at the trail – better use that ones to avoid burning down the whole forest
- Trash: leave your trash in the garbage which can be found at some shelters. Otherwise take it home with you.
- Dogs: You must take your dog at a lead
- Fishing: For the most waters you need a permission and you have to pay a small fee.
